Chef Spotlight: Al di Meglio

Chef Spotlight: Al di Meglio

Al di Meglio, Chef and Owner, Barano

Favorite Heritage Cuts: Spare Ribs, Bone-in Boston Butt, Tenderloin

Chef Al di Meglio is the Chef and Owner of Barano, a wood fired seasonal Italian restaurant in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn featuring house-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas, Casella's Prosciutto and more! An alum of Le Cirque, Osteria del Circo & Rubirosa, Al combines his Italian-American Staten Island upbringing with the tastes of Barano D’Ischia, the township in southern Italy where Al's grandmother, Giuseppina, was born. Giuseppina was instrumental in Al’s growth as a chef, and her cooking incited his love and career in food. This week the team from Barano is opening Spirit Animal, a neighborhood wine shop that will also host tastings, classes and special events. Tune in to The Main Course OG on Heritage Radio this Thursday, 5/23 at 10am to hear Al talk all things pizza and vino!
