Heritage Foods USA is proud to work with three separate groups of independent family farms, each dedicated to a specific rare breed of pig. Larry Sorrell, based out of Missouri, runs a group of fifteen Amish farms who raise the Red Wattle — a breed originally raised in New Orleans and once thought to be extinct; David Newman, a preeminent farmer and scientist is owner of the oldest Berkshire genetic line in America and works with ten farmers in the Midwest; and Craig Good — who along with a group of neighboring farms in Manhattan, Kansas, is dedicated to preserving rare American and English breeds of livestock — has been raising the same line of pigs for three generations.
